PACS developer Image Technology Laboratories has released version 2.1 of its ITLPACS software. The new release has been put into use at Kingston Diagnostic Center in Kingston, NY.
ITLPACS 2.1 includes WorkLoadExecutive and WorkFlowRouter software modules, which integrate with ITL's TouchScreen multimonitor workstation to provide a complete PACS. WorkLoadExecutive automatically assigns units of work throughout the enterprise, while WorkFlowRouter ensures that work assignments reach the appropriate person and verifies that the work is efficiently completed, according to ITL.
A report-generation module is integrated into the workstation, allowing reports to include annotated images. The firm's ReportDistributionManager then automatically forwards the report back to the radiologist for proofreading. When the report is ready for distribution, it is automatically forwarded to the referring doctor, according to the vendor.
