Image reconstruction and PACS software developer TeraRecon has received Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its AquariusNet PACS offering. AquariusNet combines the San Mateo, CA-based vendor's VolumePro 3-D rendering hardware with its image streaming network technology, allowing for 2-D, 3-D, and 4-D review and analysis of medical images simultaneously on multiple remote stations.
The system's back-end server provides support for image archiving and distribution, with a thin-client front-end application delivering workstation functionality to high-end review stations for diagnostic work, or to regular desktop PCs for image review, according to TeraRecon. AquariusNet is available now.
