Philips Speech Processing has introduced version 5.0 of its Speech Magic client/server speech recognition software. The Vienna, Austria-based firm has added several new features, including recognition in both online and batch modes, and automatic punctuation and hesitation handling.
Philips has also improved the scalability of the package, which can now accommodate up to 4,000 users and 1,000 daily hours. In addition, SpeechMagic 5.0 includes a standalone SpeechMagic recorder, remote correction, and support of multiple input devices, according to Philips.
In other introductions, Philips has debuted Correction SDK, which provides software for sound playback, text creation, and text editing. Philips said that Correction SDK is intended for building applications for transcription and correction of recognized speech.
