PACS and connectivity provider Merge Technologies has released MergePort, an HL7 and DICOM brokering product. MergePort acts as an interpreter between multiple HIS/RIS and PACS/imaging systems, receiving, converting, and dispatching HL7, DICOM, and custom-formatted images, according to the Milwaukee-based firm. This allows for the secure integration of healthcare applications, imaging modalities, PACS networks, image archives, and clinical repositories, according to Merge.
