Merge Technologies posted a profit for its third quarter (end-September 30) thanks to sharply higher product sales.
Revenue for the quarter was $4 million, an increase of 75% over revenue of $2.3 million in the same period a year ago and an increase of 7% over revenue of $3.8 million over the second quarter of 2001. Net income was $438,000, compared to a net loss of $2.6 million in the comparable quarter a year ago.
Milwaukee-based Merge attributed the increases to sales of two new radiology workflow connectivity products, MergeView and MergePort, and to "operational discipline" as it moves to expand its OEM partnerships.
