Healthcare information technology provider IDX Systems reported a third-quarter 2001 net loss of $8.6 million, compared to a net loss of $4.8 million in the same period a year ago.
The Burlington, VT-based vendor reported revenue of $86.6 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2001, compared with $87.6 million in the third quarter of 2000. Revenue for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2001 increased 14.7% to $279.8 million, compared to revenue of $243.9 million for the same period in 2000, the company said.
IDX had predicted a loss, attributing it in part to business disruptions following the terrorist attacks of September 11. The company also said it would be restructuring by reducing workforce and expenses, but did not spell out those plans.
