PACS firm DeJarnette Research Systems of Towson, MD, and radiology interpretation service provider iView have formed Telegnostics, a new company that will provide remote radiology interpretation services. Initially, Telegnostics radiologists in Denver and Boston will interpret images sent from a pilot facility in Nevada.
Telegnostics hopes to create a nationwide "virtual reading environment," allowing for remote reading of radiological images from client sites anytime, according to DeJarnette. Telegnostics' first pilot site will be in Reno, deployed in conjunction with NorthStar Imaging of Elko, NV.
The PACS and teleradiology equipment will be maintained at DeJarnette's Towson, MD, headquarters. DeJarnette will also supply the technical component to the manufacturing and distribution parts of the business, and will serve as a collection point for the images, according to the vendor.
