Agfa-Gevaert has finalized its agreement to purchase its long-time image management technology provider Mitra. The two companies yesterday announced the signing of a letter of intent regarding the sale, which is expected to close in early January, subject to completion of the premerger clearance process.
Waterloo, Ontario-based Mitra, which has partnered with Agfa for the past 10 years, will continue to provide its services to OEM customers. Mitra will be managed as a separate business unit, and its structure, management team, and employees will be retained, according to Agfa of Mortsel, Belgium.
