Storage firm Rorke Data has signed an agreement to distribute enterprise and mid-range storage systems from Hitachi Data Systems. Eden Prairie, MN-based Rorke plans to deploy the systems for PACS and HIS applications. The agreement covers Hitachi's Lightning 9900 series of enterprise storage and Thunder 9200 mid-range storage system.
In other Rorke news, the vendor has incorporated Sony's AIT-3 tape drive technology into its RTL series of AIT tape libraries for cardiology applications. The RTL series' storage capacity has also been doubled, according to the vendor.
Rorke is also incorporating Seagate's Viper 2000 autoloader into the RTL series. Viper 2000 provides up to two terabytes of compressed backup from ten cartridge slots, according to Rorke.
