PACS and connectivity firm Merge Technologies reported record fourth-quarter revenues of $4.6 million, up 30% compared with the $3.5 million reported in the fourth quarter of 2000. For the period (end-December 31), the Milwaukee-based firm had net income of $682,000, compared with a net loss of $1.6 million in the same quarter last year.
For the year, Merge had revenues of $15.7 million, up 25% compared with 2000 revenues of $12.6 million. Merge had net income of $1.3 million, compared with a net loss of $5.7 million in 2000.
Merge has strong expectations for 2002. The firm said it expects revenues to be in the range of $21 million to $22 million, with gross margins of 68% to 70%. Merge expects diluted earnings per share to be 31¢ to 34¢. In 2001, the company had diluted EPS of 15¢.
