In an agreement announced today, image-streaming software developer RealTimeImage (RTI) will integrate its DICOM-server product, iPACS Enterprise, into the PACS line of Paris-based Medasys’ Japanese division.
RTI’s server technology will provide lossless diagnostic-quality images and image sequences over a full range of bandwidths, from telephone lines to LANs. No pre-processing or intermediate storage is required, according to San Bruno, CA-based RTI.
Medasys selected the product for its Internet and intranet capabilities, as well as its presentation of a single interface for users both inside and outside the healthcare facility, said Kenji Kato, chief executive officer of Medasys, Japan.
