VitalWorks reports record Q1

Software developer VitalWorks reported first-quarter revenues of $28 million, up 10.2% from the $25.4 million reported in the first quarter last year. For the period (end-March 31), the Ridgefield, CT-based vendor had record net income of $7.6 million, compared with a net loss of $19.1million in the first quarter of 2001.

Revenue growth was driven by software sales, which grew 26%, according to the company. Looking ahead, VitalWorks said it expects to have second-quarter revenues of approximately $29 million, with net income of approximately $3.8 million. The vendor estimates it will have 2002 revenues of approximately $120 million, with net income of $19.5 million.
