Fuji rolls out Synapse 2.2

Fujifilm Medical Systems USA released version 2.2 of its Synapse PACS software at last week's Symposium for Computer Applications in Radiology.

New features include additional shortcuts, image annotating tools, and volumetric data navigation for large, cross-sectional data sets, according to the Stamford, CT-based vendor. Fuji has also added Power Jacket, a new patient-centric display, and has integrated Dictaphone's PowerScribe speech recognition technology into the application.

The cross-sectional navigational system allows users to navigate through axial, coronal, and sagittal stacks of CT and MR slices as one volume, according to Fuji. Power Jacket provides access to a complete view of a patient's entire radiology record, according to the vendor.
