Merge joins forces with Infocom

PACS firm Merge eFilm has signed an agreement with Japanese systems integrator Infocom to develop a Japanese version of Merge's eFilm workstation software. Under the terms of the agreement, Infocom of Tokyo will also secure exclusive distribution rights to the software in Japan for two years, with Merge eFilm retaining royalty revenues.

The agreement builds on a previous relationship between the two firms first signed 10 years ago, when Infocom licensed Merge's DICOM development tool to create a radiology information system. Milwaukee-based Merge will show a beta version of the software in its booth at the 2002 RSNA meeting in Chicago, and Infocom plans to release the software in the second quarter of 2003.
