Radiology image and information systems company Amicas of Boston has selected Peter McClennen as its president and chief operating officer (COO).
McClennen is a healthcare IT industry veteran of nearly 15 years who most recently served as the global general manager for GE Healthcare's IT PACS business. Prior to his employment with GE, McClennen was the director of marketing for PACS at Fujifilm Medical Systems USA.
Dr. Stephen Kahane will remain as CEO and vice chairman of the board of directors, while McClennen will lead all operational aspects of Amicas, including sales, marketing, engineering, professional services, and customer support, the company said. McClennen replaces Hamid Tabatabaie, who has left Amicas to pursue other opportunities.
No permanent replacement has been named yet for McClennen at GE. In the meantime, Nathan Cabbil has been tapped as interim integrated imaging solutions (IIS) business leader, a GE spokesperson told AuntMinnie.com. An 11-year GE veteran, Cabbil is general manager for the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K-based vendor's IIS information technologies professional services (ITPS) business.
