RIS and PACS developer Merge Healthcare of Milwaukee reported that Abe Schwartz, former chief executive officer of Cedara Software, resigned his position on the firm's board of directors yesterday.
Schwartz stepped down from the board to launch a new healthcare technology investment fund, Merge said. He has agreed to continue providing business development assistance to the company beyond his previously disclosed departure date of September 1, according to Merge.
In related news, Merge announced that Ram Ramkumar has been appointed to its board of directors to fill the seat vacated by Schwartz. Ramkumar served on the Cedara Software board for five years, including serving as chair of its audit committee.
