Healthcare informatics firm McKesson of Richmond, British Columbia, will introduce its Horizon Rad Station eJacket, a quick-access, Web-browser-based radiological exam results viewer.
Horizon Rad Station eJacket provides referring physicians with portable, secure access to information from radiologists via a standard Web browser. Physicians can use Horizon Rad Station eJacket to explain exam results to patients and show relevant images.
The tool, part of McKesson’s Horizon Medical Imaging PACS and Horizon Radiology integrated RIS/PACS suite, requires no special training for referring physicians, the company said. The information provided includes reports with embedded flagged images, scanned documents, voice clips, flagged images, or the entire image set of the study.
Horizon Rad Station eJacket is targeted to any radiology department or diagnostic imaging service that wants to send reports and images to its referring physicians. The product will be available worldwide in 2006, according to McKesson.
