The Society for Computer Applications in Radiology (SCAR) has changed its name to the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM), the organization's leaders announced today at their annual meeting in Austin, TX.
The name change reflects an expansion beyond radiology into other clinical specialties and medical informatics.
SIIM officials also said the society would relocate its headquarters from Great Falls, VA, to Leesburg, VA, this summer.
