Candelis partners with Sony on archiving

Archive developer Candelis of Irvine, CA, said it has collaborated with Sony Electronics to integrate tape libraries with its ImageGrid Intelligent Lifecycle Management (ILM) software.

The firm is now offering its ImageGrid 1000 and 700 systems integrated with the Sony LIB-81 and LIB-162 series Advanced Intelligent Tape (AIT) libraries with the ImageGrid ILM application.

In addition to providing a simplified HIPAA-compliant backup option, the integrated software enables ImageGrid customers to take advantage of AIT features such as remote memory-in-cassette (R-MIC) and an embedded radiofrequency transponder to optimize tape access and data retrieval, according to Candelis.
