Archiving technology developer Network Appliance of Sunnyvale, CA, will be displaying and demonstrating its NearStore virtual tape library (VTL) product at the RSNA conference in Chicago next week.
The NearStore VTL backup appliance appears as a tape library on a PACS, according to the company. The vendor said that the product addresses three key concerns for PACS administrators: increased performance and reliability of backup windows, simplified backup management, and reduced disk-to-disk (D2D) storage costs through the use of disk compression.
