Emageon shows strong revenue, income in Q4

Image management firm Emageon posted record revenue as well as solid income numbers for its fiscal 2006 fourth quarter (end-December 31).

The Birmingham, AL, company reported revenues of $33.5 million for the period, a 36% increase compared with revenues of $24.3 million booked in the fourth quarter of 2005. For the quarter, Emageon earned a net income of $2.1 million, a sharp turnaround compared with a net loss of $3.9 million for the same period last year.

Revenue figures for the 2006 fiscal year were equally robust -- the developer reported a record $123.5 million in revenues, a 65% increase compared with the $75.1 million in revenues posted for the prior fiscal year. On the other hand, Emageon struggled with losses for the year, posting a net loss of $6.1 million for 2006, an increase compared with net losses of $5 million shown in fiscal 2005.
