Healthcare IT and advanced visualization software developer Merge Healthcare has released the latest iteration of its integrated radiology informatics application, Fusion RIS/PACS MX 4.0.
The product, first shown as a work-in-progress at the 2006 RSNA conference in Chicago, unifies RIS, PACS, dictation, document management, billing, and practice analysis workflow. It also features radiologist workflow tools, such as embedded dictation, interrupt sessions, instant messaging, and hanging protocols, according to the Milwaukee-based firm.
Fusion RIS/PACS MX 4.0 provides Web-enabled distribution capabilities for clinical and report information via a referring practice portal. Advanced visualization tools available with the system include spine labeling, multiplanar reformatting (MPR), maximum intensity projection (MIP), and triangulation, according to Merge.
