Storage firm Bycast and IBM have inked a new OEM software licensing agreement.
Under the deal, Bycast's StorageGrid software will be the basis for IBM's System Storage Grid Access Manager software, according to Bycast of Vancouver and IBM of Somers, NY. In addition, IBM will employ Bycast's File System Gateway technology as a standard common Internet file system and network file system (CIFS/NFS) interface for its System Storage DR550 offering.
The firms have worked together since June 2005, with both companies jointly delivering IBM's Grid Medical Archive Solution (GMAS).
