Teleradiology services provider NightHawk Radiology Holdings posted a 29% increase in revenues and growth in net income for the company's first quarter (end-March 31).
For the period, the Coeur d'Alene, ID, company reported revenues of $25.9 million, compared to revenues of $20 million in the first quarter of 2006. The company's net income for the most recent quarter was $4.3 million, compared to a net loss of $43.2 million in the first quarter of 2006. The year-ago first quarter included a one-time charge of $44.2 million for a change in the value of NightHawk's preferred stock.
NightHawk said the quarter was distinguished by strong organic growth in the company's core business, the addition of new customers, and early contributions from the firm's acquisition of Teleradiology Diagnostic Service (TDS) in February.
