Filmless imaging is seen as a major boon to radiology -- if it weren't, then why would everyone be spending millions of dollars on those fancy RIS/PACS networks?
But while filmless is great when everything's working, things can go south pretty quickly if a key component fails or isn't functioning exactly the way you expect it to.
