Dear PACS Insider,
PACS enthusiasts came to Providence, RI, earlier this month for the annual meeting of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM), eager to take in the scientific sessions and SIIM U talks, as well as browse the bustling exhibit hall at the Rhode Island Convention Center.
Among the talks in the scientific sessions was research from the HEC University of Montreal, which found that radiologists and clinicians tend to view the success of PACS differently. Radiologists were inclined to evaluate the success of PACS based on efficiency and productivity benefits, while clinicians' opinions derived from their intensity of use of the system and their perception of its usefulness.

Other current articles from SIIM 2007 include the benefits of a multitier staffing model for imaging IT, OR, and radiology workflow, and the evolving role of imaging informatics. Stay tuned for further coverage from the meeting.
