PACS vendor Amicas reported slightly higher revenues for the company's second quarter (end-June 30), but the Boston company reported a net loss due to reimbursement-related pressure on its client base.
For the period, Amicas posted sales of $12.5 million, up 2% compared with revenues of $12.2 million in the second quarter of 2006. The company turned in a net loss of $480,000, compared to net income of $319,000 in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Amicas was challenged by reimbursement pressures during the quarter, but executives said they were encouraged by sales during the period. The company said that there is heightened interest in the firm's new revenue cycle management software, and the company also enjoyed a 44% increase in bookings.
