Online College of PACS: Enterprise image management

Dear Professional Media Insider,

The final course in our series of Online College of PACS Administration lectures is now live and available for viewing, featuring guest lecturer Herman Oosterwijk of PACS education and consulting firm OTech of Aubrey, TX.

Course 103 provides a complete review of enterprise image and information management -- an increasingly important topic as medical images break free of the radiology environment and are disseminated throughout the healthcare enterprise.

You'll learn about the different levels of a healthcare enterprise, and the importance of patient identification and protocols like PIX and XDS in ensuring the smooth flow of data across an institution. The presentation also deals with important subjects such as enterprise-level archiving and electronic health records.

Like the other courses in the Online College of PACS Administration, Course 103 is designed to help you study for the Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) exam, taking place just a couple weeks away on September 28.

You'll find Course 103 by clicking here. When you're done, you can review Course 101, "Importing/exporting radiology studies," and Course 102, "Networking and network management," by clicking on the links below.
