Pegasus adds to PICTools

Image compression firm Pegasus Imaging has released an updated PICTools software development kit (SDK).

The new release features support for multithreading JPEG 2000 compression and decompression operations, according to the Tampa-based firm. It now features a user-configurable number of threads per operation for optimal throughput on multicore central processing units (CPUs), Pegasus said.
