Franklin & Seidelman Subspecialty Radiology (F&S) of Cleveland is expanding its subspecialty teleradiology business with the acquisition of Apex Radiology of Coral Gables, FL.
With the transaction, F&S adds final and preliminary nighttime interpretations to its services, and increases its annual case volume to more than 800,000 final reports. Apex's 25 radiologists are expected to join F&S, bringing the company's staff total to more than 100 radiologists.
F&S also will introduce a new proprietary radiology workflow technology called AccuRad. The Web-based workflow portal is designed to manage report delivery via automated fax, online access, or encrypted e-mail to F&S clients. AccuRad also offers real-time status checking on reports and enables referring physicians to view reports and images. Future enhancements will include online order entry and referral volume analytics.
