(Booth 2551) ScImage will emphasize updates to PicomEnterprise, as well as mammography and advanced visualization tools, at this year's RSNA show.

2007 10 24 11 55 29 706ScImage has added a Web-based workflow management foundation to PicomEnterprise, combining DICOM, HL7, and Web services into a single code base, according to the Los Altos, CA-based firm. This approach yields benefits such as dynamic workflow allocation, which allows users to assign studies to specific readers based on location, time of day, subspecialty, individual backlogs, and current workload indexes, ScImage said.

Administrators can also now track and manage daily workflow, order backlogs, and reporting turnaround time, the company said. Instant messaging capability and voice over IP (VOIP) communication are also available to logged-in reading physicians.

The vendor will also highlight a mammography workflow package that facilitates the diagnostic review of mammography images. Featuring integration with patient reporting and tracking tools, the suite can be launched directly from the PACS workstation, according to the firm. The package, which is pending U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance, is expected to be released by the first quarter of 2008.

In advanced visualization developments, ScImage will demonstrate its NetraMD 3D software. Offering dual comparative multiplanar reformatting (MPR)/maximum intensity projection (MIP) for large CT datasets, the Web-based application is run directly on ScImage's workstation, according to the firm.
