Lower bookings earlier in 2007 reverberated in Emageon's third-quarter financial report with a downturn in revenues and a greater net loss for the Birmingham, AL-based company.
For the period (end-September 30), revenue fell to $22.7 million, a 31% decline from $33 million in the third quarter of 2006. The firm's net loss totaled $4.3 million, compared with a net loss of $273,000 in the same quarter of 2006.
For the nine-month period, revenues slipped to $75.7 million, compared with $90 million in the same period of 2006. The company's net loss increased to $6.4 million, which includes $600,000 in restructuring expenses from Emageon's May 2007 workforce reduction. The company posted a net loss of $8.1 million in the same period a year ago.
Emageon also reaffirmed its previously announced estimate of a full-year net loss in the range of $3.7 million to $4.9 million.
