AMS adds PACS educational feature

PACS firm American Medical Sales (AMS) of Hawthorne, CA, introduced a new feature to its Catella PACS at this week's RSNA 2007 meeting in Chicago.

The computer video-based, self-directed learning tool called Educate Me is for users with limited IT background, according to AMS. The tool uses a series of one- to two-minute video clips that instruct users on key features of the AMS PACS.

The Educate Me clips are linked to electronic manuals that are a part of AMS' PACS shipments. AMS expects to eventually produce 50 of these segments, which would be tied directly to software as part of its Web-based support system.
