Software developer DatCard Systems of Irvine, CA, announced it has been awarded a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its PacsCube and SmartLine products.
U.S. Patent 7,302,164 is for systems used to distribute and record DICOM medical image data onto CDs or DVDs that can be read without specialized viewing software. PacsCube and SmartLine enable the retrieval of patient image data through the DICOM imaging protocol, with text and educational content relevant to each patient.
In other news, DadCard will begin distributing on-demand digital publishing systems from Rimage of Minneapolis. This distributor alliance further solidifies the ongoing business partnership between the two firms, according to DatCard.
Rimage supplies recordable CD, DVD, and Blu-ray (BD) publishing systems.
