Planar unveils 16-megapixel display at RSNA

Diagnostic medical display developer Planar Systems of Beaverton, OR, has launched its Planar Dome Zx series of high-resolution grayscale displays, including the 16-megapixel Dome Z16, at this week's RSNA 2007 meeting in Chicago.

Dome Z16 is a 30-inch display with true 10-bit high-resolution grayscale glass without the split-bezel of a standard dual-monitor configuration, Planar said. It offers side-by-side digital study comparisons, reducing the need to pan and zoom, according to the company.

The series also feature a 750 cd/m² max brightness, a 500 cd/m2² calibrated brightness, a 750:1 contrast ratio, and a 1,024 simultaneous grayscale palette from 4,096 shades of gray, the company said.
