Healthcare IT and advanced visualization developer Merge Healthcare released its financial results for the second quarter and six-month period (end-June 30).
Revenues totaled $14 million in the second quarter, compared with $31.4 million in the second quarter of 2006 and $15.9 million in the first quarter of 2007. Revenues for the second quarter of 2006 include $11.6 million from contracts signed in previous quarters for which the revenue had been deferred due to delays in delivery until the second quarter of 2006.
Merge also posed a net loss for the second quarter of $10.7 million, compared with a net loss of $211 million in the second quarter of 2006 and a net loss of $9.7 million in the first quarter of 2007. The second quarter of 2006 includes a goodwill impairment charge of $214.1 million.
For the six-month period of 2007, revenues totaled $29.9 million, compared with $47.6 million in the same period of 2006. The six-month net loss totaled $20.5 million, compared with a net loss of $216.3 million for the year-ago period.
Merge also noted that it expects to file its third-quarter (end-September 30) report in January 2008.
