IBM of Armonk, NY, is collaborating with Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston to create an online radiology theater where medical experts can simultaneously discuss and review patients' medical test data using a Web browser.
IBM has created a secure Web site on a research project that allows select medical experts at Brigham and Women's to make rounds on patients regardless of their location.
CT scans, MRIs, and other medical tests can be posted on the site and analyzed by doctors who can log in to a secure Web site to review and analyze a patient's tests.
The theater also allows physicians to discuss, tag, and share information simultaneously; call physicians to discuss scan results; and then chart the results.
