International communications and IT firm Harris of Melbourne, FL, has been awarded a one-year, $14 million contract by Evolvent Technologies of Dulles, VA, to develop and implement the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Military Health System's global Healthcare Artifact and Image Management Solution (HAIMS).
Under the contract, which can be extended to four one-year incentive options, Harris will provide program management, software design, systems development, and test and evaluation expertise for the Web-based HAIMS.
HAIMS will provide all 65 hospitals and medical centers within the global DoD healthcare system, as well as dental and medical clinics, with enterprise-wide access and viewing of healthcare artifacts and images.
The announcement was made at this week's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) meeting in Chicago.
