Carestream Health will introduce a new computed radiography (CR) cassette at next month's 2009 American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) conference in Las Vegas.
The CR cassette features an embedded antiscatter grid that eliminates the need to remove an exterior grid prior to scanning and then having to replace the grid for the next team, according to the Rochester, NY-based vendor. The cassette can also be used in portable chest exams and trauma exams of the spine, hip, or pelvis, Carestream said.
In other AHRA introductions, Carestream will debut a new version of its CR/DR operating software that features expanded functionality and ease of use, the company said. In addition, Carestream will showcase Carestream PACS MX-Clinic View, a low-volume PACS for reviewing, storing, and outputting images. It will be available to physicians' offices and clinics through authorized Carestream dealers.
