Same-site volume growth, improved customer retention, and revenue growth from new customers boosted sales for NightHawk Radiology Services of Coeur d'Alene, ID, in the second quarter of 2009 (end-June 30).
The teleradiology services provider posted revenue of $42.3 million, up 9% from $38.8 million in the second quarter of 2008. Adjusted net income was $4.4 million, compared with $5.5 million in the same quarter a year ago.
Scan volume increased to 817,000 exams in the second quarter of 2009, compared with 780,000 exams in the second quarter of 2008.
NightHawk noted that it expects scan volume and revenue for the third quarter of 2009 to increase sequentially from the second quarter, with expected revenue in the range of $42 million to $43 million.
