EBM releases dental PACS

EBM Technologies of Honolulu has announced new software for archiving patient charts.

Pangea Dental is a Web-based PACS designed for dental practices. The software can present bitewings, panoramic surveys, conebeam CT studies, head/jaw CT studies, and MRI exams needed in oral surgery, oral medicine, periodontics, endodontics, and orthodontics, the company said.

Pangea Dental can interface with clinical and patient dental management software (electronic dental records) and has no limits to DICOM-based modality connections, EBM said. It includes processing and analysis tools, as well as scalability, redundancy, and synchronization.

The PACS allows end users to view any DICOM image and also input from non-DICOM-based modalities via coupling with EBM's Uni-Gate software. Pangea Dental has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance.
