IBM unit Artefact Informatique has signed a five-year deal to build a digital medical image registry for the Canadian province of Quebec.
Once the registry is available in 2010, doctors in Quebec will be able to access the IHE Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing Integration (XDS-I)-compliant registry to electronically access medical images stored in three secure digital imaging repositories across the province, according to IBM of Armonk, NY. The order is valued at $3.6 million Canadian ($3.3 million U.S.).
