Compact-ultrasound developer SonoSite has introduced its SonoSite Workflow Solutions (SWS) software suite.
SWS is designed to streamline exam management at the departmental level, allowing physicians to browse, manage, and store ultrasound studies, SonoSite said. It also allows users to generate reports for billing and credentialing, according to the Bothell, WA-based vendor.
Patient information and ultrasound images can be transferred to the SWS program over a wireless or Ethernet connection and automatically prepopulate patient information forms built into SWS, SonoSite said. The server-based offering operates on both PC and Macintosh platforms.
In other SonoSite news, the company has introduced two new offerings for cordless charging and extended battery life of its scanners.
PowerPort allows for cordless charging of SonoSite systems that are mounted or docked in the firm's Universal Stand. Another new product, PowerPack, triples battery life and can keep a system charged for six hours or more, according to the vendor.
SonoSite has also introduced a new version of its Universal Stand, offering ergonomic benefits, added versatility, and increased mobility, according to the firm. Deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2009.
