LEAD touts new SDK release

Imaging toolkit developer LEAD Technologies will be presenting version 16.5 of its LEADtools SDK (software development kit) at the upcoming 2009 RSNA meeting in Chicago.

LEADtools v16.5 includes a number of new features, including a new optical character recognition (OCR) engine and a revamped forms recognition and processing development interface, according to the Charlotte, NC-based vendor. It also includes LEAD's new Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) services and Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF) activities for various imaging-related tasks, LEAD said.

The company has also added an optimized DICOM PACS framework, designed to allow for rapid development of DICOM service class users and providers. Enhanced grayscale support has also been incorporated, according to LEAD.
