Agfa HealthCare of Mortsel, Belgium, is introducing several updates of its Impax systems at the RSNA meeting in Chicago.
Included among the enhancements is the prerelease version of Impax Exchange, which provides secure, reliable transfer and localization of patients' studies among hospitals and other healthcare organizations, the company said.
Impax Exchange is designed to reduce redundant tests and treatments through improved information sharing.
Agfa will also demonstrate the newest version of Impax Mobility, a clinical viewer for reviewing physicians that can be easily deployed to wired/wireless PCs, laptops, tablets, or smartphone devices.
The company is also highlighting Impax 6.5, which offers features of embedded Impax reporting and image processing and introduces an Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)-compliant workflow for breast imaging and improved integration to the Impax cardiovascular system.
Finally, Agfa is showing its Impax Data Center at the RSNA meeting, which the company touts as playing a key role in the creation of an image-enabled electronic medical record. Impax Data Center provides large-scale multimedia storage for all DICOM-based medical images and diagnostic results, and can unite disparate image management systems with a single point of storage, Agfa said.
It is designed to work in conjunction with the Impax Data Center Viewer, a work-in-progress powered by Xero, which will also be demonstrated. It is a "zero footprint" image and report viewer developed to provide access at any point of care.
