Canon adds projectors to medical line

Canon U.S.A. of Lake Success, NY, has added its REALiS multimedia projectors to its medical education product line.

The DICOM simulation mode on the REALiS SX7 Mark II D simulates the results of devices compliant with the DICOM standardized display function for display of grayscale images and can be used for viewing monochrome digital x-ray, CT, and MRI scans.

This special mode allows for calibrating brightness in a classroom, conference room, or any other environment when ambient light varies. Although it is not cleared or approved for medical diagnosis, the projector can be used for medical educators who need to display large images to train students and conduct lectures/conferences.
