The weak global economy remains a challenge for Agfa HealthCare of Mortsel, Belgium, as the company posted lower revenue in the first quarter of 2010 (end-March 31).
Revenues declined 5% to 276 million euros ($342 million U.S.), compared with 291 million euros ($360 million U.S.) in the first quarter of 2009. Net income, however, improved to 18 million euros ($22 million U.S.) in the first quarter of 2010, compared with a net loss of 9 million euros ($11 million U.S.) in the same quarter of 2009.
Agfa attributed reduced revenues, in part, to decreased revenues in the U.S.
