IDC signs deal for Merge ortho software

Canadian digital radiography (DR) vendor Imaging Dynamics (IDC) of Calgary, Alberta, has signed an agreement with healthcare IT and advanced visualization developer Merge Healthcare of Milwaukee that gives IDC access to Merge's ProPlanner orthopedic planning software.

ProPlanner enables orthopedic surgeons to diagnose and plan surgery based on digital radiographs acquired on IDC systems. The software also enables users to stitch a series of radiographic images for long leg and scoliosis studies, and it gives surgeons access to an implant library that allows them to access and preoperatively size implants to streamline the surgical planning process and decrease patient surgery waiting times, according to the companies.

The agreement enables IDC to sell ProPlanner to its orthopedic DR customers.
