Network hardware and applications developer Cisco Systems has won a contract with teleradiology services provider NightHawk Radiology Services of Scottsdale, AZ, for Cisco's Unified Computing system.
NightHawk has installed eight Cisco Unified Computing system blades as VMware ESX servers at its main data center, which consolidates several smaller server sites into one primary one. NightHawk is also using Cisco's Nexus 1000V Switch, a software switch that operates inside the VMware ESX hypervisor.
The new system will reduce the time NightHawk needs to deploy and manage service by 80%, according to Cisco.
