Firm launches portable EMR interface system

Musculoskeletal Imaging Consultants (MSKIC) and partner Salt Lake MRI have launched a new portable interface system that delivers images, electronic medical records (EMRs), and specialist consultation to physicians using any Internet-ready device, the two firms announced.

Virtual Viewbox collates old and new patient records created by any PACS into a single listing, according to the two companies. It also allows physicians to conduct virtual side-by-side consultations with an expert radiologist.

MSKIC and Salt Lake MRI debuted the system at the Utah State Orthopaedic Society's (USOS) annual meeting, the companies said.
